In pursuit of artistic excellence When I look back at the events that shaped my career, I feel I was destined to be an artist. Each and every incident that happened in my childhood days point towards this.
I
hail from a remote village in the Raichur District located in the state of Karnataka in
India. In my early days while walking down the weekly market in my village holding my
father's hand, I used to observe all the sign boards and display boards on shop rooves and
be amazed at how those were created. In school days I discovered that I had a real
artistic bent of mind when without much effort I could win all prizes in school
competitions. Recognising
the growing importance of computers in all walks of life, I decided to take up a computer
course that could render a distinct dimension to my artistic skills. I attended a course
in graphic arts for 6 months. Luckily, I got a good break at Deldot Systems Ltd., a
Bangalore based company dedicated to the development of software products and services
aimed at a aesthetically inclined population. The stay at Deldot proved to be a great
learning experience for me. I was exposed to working effectively with 2d graphic software
like Adobe Photoshop and Corel Draw. Also I could understand the nuances of 3d modelling,
3d animation, sound editing and almost everything that would go into making a multimedia
presentation. In the short span of 2 years, I worked on several multimedia projects and
created some very satisfying multimedia presentations including the Deldot Walkthrough
which drew critical acclaim. Deldot in fact paved way for further development of my skills
in CD and CBT authoring.
